On 1 July 2024, the Villa Lessing - Liberale Stiftung Saar awarded the "Villa Lessing European Prize 2023" to graduates of the Europa-Institut at Saarland University.

The prize is awarded annually to students of the sections of law and economics of the Europa-Institut of Saarland University, who deal in their Master's thesis with the developments of law and economics in Europe and in particular with the strengthening of freedom and competition in Europe, European integration on a liberal basis and the strengthening of European civil society. The Europa-Preis was launched in 2010 and is endowed with €1,500. The keynote speech "Forschung & Lehre im europäischen Kontext" was held by Prof. Ludger Santen, President of Saarland University.

We would like to congratulate all award winners and especially our alumni Elena Baum, Vishakha Choudhary and Michael FitzGerald for winning the 2023 edition of the Villa Lessing European Prize! A big thank you also to the Villa Lessing for the nice evening and their continuous support!
