Big success for the EuroSim 2021 team

The largest simulation of European decision-making processes "EuroSim" took place from March 25 to 27, 2021. The Europa-Institut again successfully participated with a delegation of 12 master students. This year, Niagara University hosted the conference, which is intended not only to impart knowledge about the processes of European legislation, but above all to promote intercultural exchange between European and American students.

Due to current travel restrictions, the simulation could not take place on-site at the U.S.-Canadian border overlooking Niagara Falls. Instead, the participants met as digital avatars in a virtual conference center to bring their roles as European decision makers to life. The students of the Europa-Institut, who played the roles of Emmanuel Macron and Sebastian Kurz, among others, did so particularly successfully: in 3 out of 5 categories, their performance was ranked as the best by the other participants. In addition, they were awarded two second places. In summary, the Europa-Institut was thus the delegation that received the most votes and won the most prizes.

Congratulations to our team for their outstanding performance: Wannes Bellart (1st place JHA Council), Tracy Bai, Dunice Enahoro (2nd place EU Parliament LIBE Committee), Rafael Escudero Schwarz, Drini Grazhdani, Mathijs van Haver (1st place European Council), Jeet Karia, Laura Marquez Malia, Melanie Nathan, Ariana Ospina Giraldo (2nd place European Council), Anusha Osman Ali (1st place Special Roles), Raphael Solari and the coaches Dennis Traudt and Lars Ruf!
