Europe on the Internet provides access to the databases and electronic document registers of the institutions of the European Union and numerous other European institutions.

Service

The library was founded together with the Institute in 1951 at Saarland University. The holdings of the Europa-Institut library include hybrid legal publications from the subject areas of European and international law.

  • Users have access to a helpful and competent library team, which assists with literature searches and obtaining the information they need
  • Library tours in German and English for students.
  • Course on information literacy (currently online) Introduction of students:
    • into research in electronic library catalogs the legal and European databases
    • into scientific work
  • The bright and quiet reading rooms with their workstations equipped with WLAN allow students to reserve their own workstation and work in a concentrated manner.
  • Three rooms equipped with whiteboards are available for group work.
  • In addition, students and guests of the Europa-Institut can work on the computers in the foyer of the library and research on the Internet.
  • Lending is restricted: Books can only be borrowed by students of the Europa-Institut: 1 hour before library closing time. Books must be returned on the following opening day by 10:00 a.m. at the latest! Only books with a white signature label (textbooks and journals cannot be borrowed).
