In the Digital Library you have direct access to the online catalog and the electronic full-text offerings (subject databases, journals, etc.).

Europe on the Internet provides access to the databases and electronic document registers of the institutions of the European Union and numerous other European institutions.

Service

The Europa-Institut library was founded together with the Institute in 1951 at Saarland University. The library collection includes hybrid legal publications from the subject areas of European and international law.

  • Users have access to a supportive and trained library team, which will gladly assist with literature searches and obtaining the required information
  • We offer library tours in German and English for students.
  • Our Information literacy instruction program aligns with institutional and curricular goals, contributing to student success and lifelong learning.
  • The bright and quiet reading rooms with their workstations equipped with WLAN (WIFI) allow students to reserve a workstation and work in a concentrated manner.
  • Three rooms equipped with whiteboards are available for group work.
  • Furthermore, students and guests of the Europa-Institut can work on the computers in the foyer of the library and search the Internet.

Borrowing policies:

  • Books can only be borrowed by students of the Europa-Institut with a valid library ID: 1 hour before library closing time. Books must be returned by 10:00 a.m. on the following opening day at the latest!
  • We offer full access to electronic resources (e-books, articles, journals, and databases) and the interlibrary loans service.
