Dr. Alexander Hoffmann works as a lawyer for the law firm CMS Hasche Sigle in Cologne, where he is specialized in litigation and insurance law. He represents clients in insurance litigation before state courts as well as before arbitration tribunals. He has special knowledge of private insurance law and insurance supervision law. Before joining CMS Hasche Sigle, Dr. Hoffmann worked for two years as a lawyer for the law firm SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte in litigation and insurance law in Berlin.
Dr. Hoffmann studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn and at the University Sciences Po in Paris. In 2012, he graduated from the Temple University Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia with a Master of Laws degree. From 2013 to 2015, Dr. Hoffmann completed his legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal, including positions at the German Foreign Office and at the international organization UNIDROIT in Rome. In 2018, Dr. Hoffmann was awarded a doctorate at Saarland University with a thesis on "Commercial Litigation Financing in International Investment Arbitration Proceedings".
