Since 1972, the library of the Europa-Institut has been one of over 40 European Documentation Centers (EDC) in Germany, which are part of a Europe-wide network of 656 documentation centers.

Almost all European Union publications are collected in the Central Library of the European Commission. The holdings of the library, founded in 1958, thus offer a historical and current overview of European integration and can be searched via the Central Library Catalog (ECLAS) .
The European Library allows users to search the collections of Europe's national libraries.
The virtual European library provides links to 6 million digital objects such as images, photographs, texts, sound recordings, and videos.
