Language Verification

Sound knowledge of German and/or English are fundamental for admittance to the program. Candidates must be able to prove that they have a sufficient level of either language, in order to be admitted to the Europa-Institut.

German Language Skill Verification

We accept the following as German language skill verification from candidates from outside of the German-speaking world:

The "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (DSH)";
The "Deutsch als Fremdsprache (TestDaF)" - German as a foreign language test;
The "Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom" or "Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom", administered by the Goethe Institute;
The "Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP)"- Advanced Level Examination of the Goethe Institute;
The "Deutsches Sprachdiplom Stufe II der Kultus-
ministerkonferenz" - German Language Certificate, Level II, of the German Standing Conference of Ministers of Education and Culture;
Proof of a completed university degree from a German or German-speaking university;
Proof of an assessment in German language and/or literary studies from a foreign university.

English Language Skill Verification

We accept the following as English language skill verification from candidates from outside of the English-speaking world:

The TOEFL-Test (Test of English as a Foreign Language). The Europa-Institut has its own "TOEFL Code" which you can enter when taking the test. Your results will then be forwarded directly to the Europa-Institut. Our code is: 4580.
The IELTS examination (International English Language Testing System);
The Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE);
Proof of a completed university degree from an English or English-speaking university;
Proof of an assessment in English language and/or literary studies from a foreign university.
